Introducing the incredibly useful kitchen tool you never knew you needed: the Chef's Press. Born out of necessity by San Francisco chef, Bruce Hill, who needed to maximise space and flavour in his small kitchen, it's an adjustable weight tool made to help you cook more quickly and bring more crisp. 

Available exclusively at Meatsmith (and in three sizes), the Chef's Press is stackable to create extra weight and surface area. Choose your weight based on the density and thickness of what you're grilling (it's also great for vegetables like cauliflower and eggplant). It applies even pressure which quickens the cooking process, creates maximum pan contact and is vented to release steam. 

We've been using the Chef's Press on a multitude of cuts, and can confirm its wizardry works brilliantly in grilling a flattened spatchcock, searing a Wagyu porterhouse or helping to render a juicy pork chop
