2021 GD Vajra Albe Barolo
A traditionally-made Barolo from high-elevation vineyards (380–480m) with south-facing exposures. Hand-harvested and triple sorted, it was wild fermented in vertical tini with maceration up to 57 days, followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation and 26 months in large Slavonian oak casks. The wine shows bright acidity, firm tannins, and precise aromas of cherry, raspberry, rose, and crushed stone. Structured and energetic, with a long, mineral finish. Great with any hearty roast, think suckling pig, prime rib and the braised fennel.
