Whole Sommerlad Chicken
In celebration of Mother's Day this year, we will have Sommerlad chickens from Sun Farms in the New South Wales Riverina region.
A robust heritage breed evolved specifically for the south-eastern Australian climate, the Sommerlad is unlike any conventional chicken—slow-growing, richly flavoured, and deeply marbled thanks to long days spent in open pastures. Closest in character to the revered French Bresse chicken, these birds are colourful, characterful and bred with intention.
Raised regeneratively by Sun Farms, where they roam freely beneath rows of solar panels, they represent a future-facing approach to farming – one that yields juicy, tender chicken, while supporting soil health and sustainable practices.
These incredibly delicious chickens will only be available for celebrations over the Mother's Day weekend - from Thursday 8 May to Sunday 11 May.
