Adelaide Hills, South Australia
A serious take on Limoncello from our friends at Applewood distillery in the Adelaide Hills. Laura and Brendan Carter’s Limoncello is the result of not wanting valuable produce to go to waste. Lemons from South Australia’s oldest citrus plantation were deemed “too ugly” for supermarkets and the whole orchard was nearly pulled out. To save this historic plantation, Applewood has promised to buy the crop every year to craft this delicious liqueur. This is a spirit that needs no persuasion: open a bottle to sip slowly as you clear the table from Sunday lunch or pour a shot over your favourite sorbet.
