The ultimate Boxing Day sandwich
While we’re all about juicy roasting cuts on the big day, let’s be honest, we all look forward to that overloaded indulgent sandwich to enjoy on Boxing Day. Here, we feature a few Christmas favourites combined with picant pickles and a celebrated cheese.
Ingredients
Sliced sourdough bread
Sliced rare breed ham off the bone
Cooked and sliced rare breed turkey breast fillet
Cumberland Sauce
St David's Dairy Cultured Butter
Assembling the sandwich
Cut two thick slices of sourdough bread then butter liberally. Add a dollop of Meatsmith Mustard then spread evenly across the bottom slice.
Layer slices of rare breed ham. We find 3-4 pieces does the trick!
Layer it up!
Add two thick slices of rare breed turkey breast then season with extra salt & pepper
Spoon Cumberland sauce across the top of the turkey breast then crumble a generous quantity of stuffing over the top.
Add thin slices of cheddar cheese on top of the stuffing then adorn with Zuni pickle.
The final touches
Finish off with a large pinch of watercress, top the sandwich with the other piece of bread then stand back to enjoy the glory.
Crack open a beer, put on your favourite Christmas movie and tuck into the ultimate Boxing Day sandwich.
