Steve Pannell is an absolute master of Grenache. Every time we drink a glass of this 2018 Basso, we are struck by how utterly delicious it is. The fruit comes from 50-year-old dry grown vines in McLaren Vale, fermented and aged in neutral oak foudres, with nothing added apart from a very low level of sulphur dioxide at bottling. We love how Basso manages to be lively, open and medium-bodied, with ample complexity, concentration and fine sandy tannin. It's a must-drink example of new-wave old-vine McLaren Vale Grenache.
